Adult Orthodontics Planned Around More Than Straight Teeth
Straight teeth are only one part of orthodontic planning. For many adult patients, tooth movement also affects restorative space, tooth wear, bite relationships, gum levels and the final smile design. At Aesthetic Smiles, orthodontic treatment is planned in the context of the patient’s broader dental goals.

Clear Aligners
Clear aligners may be used to move teeth gradually while allowing patients to maintain a discreet appearance. Treatment planning is individualized to tooth position, periodontal support, bite relationships and the intended restorative or cosmetic endpoint. Clear aligners are not presented as a one-size-fits-all solution, and some cases may require a different orthodontic approach or specialist collaboration.
Orthodontics Before Restorative Dentistry
Moving teeth before definitive restorative treatment can sometimes create better space, improve tooth proportions, reduce unnecessary tooth preparation and make the final restorative design more conservative. In comprehensive cases, orthodontics and restorative dentistry should be planned together from the beginning rather than sequentially by accident.
Orthodontics and TMJ
Orthodontic treatment is not presented as a universal treatment for TMD. Patients with significant jaw pain, locking, functional limitation or active bite instability should be evaluated appropriately before the orthodontic plan is finalized. When TMJ concerns are present, the objective is to understand the condition and plan tooth movement responsibly.
