Full-mouth rehabilitation is a comprehensive approach for patients whose dental problems involve many teeth, the bite and often the appearance of the smile. Rather than treating each tooth as an isolated problem, the plan is developed around the condition of the entire dentition and the patient’s functional and aesthetic goals.

Patients may seek full-mouth rehabilitation because of severe tooth wear, repeated fractures, old dentistry that is failing, missing teeth, bite collapse, trauma, significant cosmetic concerns or a combination of these factors.

Our Planning Sequence

  1. Understand the breakdown: document tooth wear, fractures, missing teeth, periodontal health, existing restorations, bite relationships and symptoms.
  2. Define the desired endpoint: function, tooth position, smile design, facial/dental proportions and patient priorities.
  3. Determine whether any stabilizing or preparatory treatment is needed first: periodontal care, orthodontics, implant planning, provisionalization or TMJ/bite stabilization.
  4. Test and refine when appropriate: complex cases may use provisional or reversible phases to evaluate comfort, function and aesthetics before definitive treatment.
  5. Complete definitive restorative treatment in a coordinated sequence and establish long-term maintenance.
