Porcelain Veneers that Address both Appearance and Function
Veneers can conceal various cosmetic blemishes to dramatically enhance your smile. Dr. Maryam Motlagh offers both traditional and minimal-prep porcelain veneers at her Portland, OR, office. Because of her extensive training in facial aesthetics and cosmetic veneer placement, she can customize your veneers to complement your facial features and properly align with your bite. Dr. Motlagh also uses advanced digital imaging to design veneers and show you what you can expect from your treatment. Contact Aesthetic Smiles℠ to find out if veneers are right for you.
Candidates for Veneers
If you want to achieve a virtually immediate smile transformation, veneers may be a great solution. Dr. Motlagh can attach these thin shells of porcelain to the front of your teeth to conceal a variety of cosmetic concerns:
- Chips and cracks
- Internal discoloration
- Stains resistant to teeth whitening
- Misshapen teeth
- Small gaps between teeth
- Worn teeth
- Minor orthodontic issues that do not affect overall bite alignment
With traditional porcelain veneers, Dr. Motlagh will need to reshape your teeth, removing a small amount of enamel to provide room for the veneer. Therefore, if you have suffered dental erosion, you may not qualify for this treatment. However, in many cases, Dr. Motlagh can provide minimal-prep veneers, which require little to no tooth preparation.
Dental decay and gum disease can also compromise your candidacy for veneers. You must undergo any necessary restorative treatments for existing issues before your veneers can be placed.
We Enhance More than Your Smile
At Aesthetic Smiles℠, we take a comprehensive approach to oral health. Though cosmetics are the main concern with veneers, Dr. Motlagh will also consider your bite alignment and oral function. She will ensure that your veneers do not change the force of your bite or cause you to grind your teeth, which can result in chipped and damaged veneers. Through her detail-oriented care, she can increase the longevity of your veneers and reduce your risk for TMJ Disorder.
Dr. Motlagh also works with an experienced technician, who is LVI (Las Vegas Institute) Certified to create veneers. LVI Global is renowned for continuing dental education and training in effective, contemporary techniques for dentistry. Your veneers will be created to the best standards of quality. You can feel confident about the look of your smile and your future oral wellness.
Porcelain veneers can provide durable, stain-resistant results for years to come.
Before beginning treatment, Dr. Motlagh will explain the results that you can expect from veneers. We have an extensive photo gallery, so you can view previous patient outcomes and determine which veneers are appropriate for your cosmetic goals. Dr. Motlagh will also design your restorations using advanced software. She can show you the images as she goes, and you will play an active role in designing your new smile.
To place the veneers, we will begin by numbing the treatment area with a local anesthetic. Dr. Motlagh will then reshape your teeth, to allow the veneers to lay flat. Minimal-prep veneers are thinner than traditional veneers, and require less tooth preparation, if any. We will then take impressions of your reshaped tooth so that our off-site technician can create your restorations to your exact specifications. Creating your veneers takes about two weeks, during which time you can wear temporary veneers if your teeth required any alteration. When the final veneers are finished, Dr. Motlagh will apply a special solution to etch the surface of your tooth, allowing a stronger bond. Your veneers will then be bonded in place, and can provide durable, stain-resistant results for years to come.
